Banh Gio/ Vietnamese steamed pork dumplings. This cake is used to wrapped in banana leaves and shape likes a pyramid, with tender ground pork, mushroom and quail eggs. It's delicious, I hope you will give this recipe a try.

Ingredients for 16 dumplings
Dough
  1. 16 oz bag rice flour, remove 1 cup then replace with 1 cup of corn starch. Add 3 1/2 cup of homemade chicken broth (you can use can broth) mix well until flour are dissolved.
  2. 4 cup chicken broth
  3. 2 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  4. 1 tsp sugar
  5. 2 Tbsp oil add to the rice batter before cook
Filling
  1. 500 gr = 1.1 lbs ground pork
  2. 1 large = 200 to 250 gr onion
  3. 2 cloves = 11 gr galic
  4. 2 large = 45 gr shallots
  5. 25 gr = 3/4 cup wood ear mushroom
  6. 2 Tbsp olive oil
  7. 2 Tbsp good fish sauce
  8. 2 tsp sugar
  9. 1 tsp full black pepper
  10. 32 cooked quail eggs
  11. Cleaned banana leaves
  12. Cotton twine
  13. * Steamed these over boiling water, and make sure to have plenty of water. Steam for 40 mins, after 40 mins turn the heat off but keep these cake in the steam pot for 30 to 40 mins.Your cake will taste better if you allow it to cooled down like this. It's taste delicious, enjoy!
