Banh Mi Xiu Mai - Vietnamese Meatballs
Vietnamese Meatballs are made with ground pork and simmering in sweet and sour tomato sauce. It is typically eaten as a sandwich or hoagie. The meatball is also delicious to eat with steam rice, soy sauce and hot pepper.

Ingredients

Meatballs
  1. 2 lb ground pork ( contain some fat )
  2. 2-3 Tbsp chopped shallot
  3. 3/4 cup chopped onion or 1 medium size onion
  4. 1-1/2 Tbsp corn starch
  5. 1-1/2 tsp kosher salt
  6. 1 Tbsp sugar
  7. 1/2 tsp black pepper
  8. 1 tsp sesame oil
  9. 1 tsp fish sauce
Tomato sauce
  1. 3 lg tomatoes - seeds removed and chopped
  2. 2 Tbsp tomato paste
  3. 4 cloves of garlic chopped
  4. 2 scallions (white part) chopped
  5. 2 scallions (green part) chopped for garnish
  6. 2 tsp cornstarch mix with 2 tsp water set aside
  7. 2 Tbsp sugar
  8. 1 tsp kosher salt
  9. 1/2 cup water
  10. 1 Tbsp olive oil

  1. 2 lbs thịt heo xay hơi có mỡ
  2. 4 củ hành tím băm nhỏ
  3. 1 củ hành tây băm nhỏ (gần 1 chén)
  4. 1-1/2 Mcanh bột củ năng
  5. 1-1/2 mcafe muối
  6. 1 Mcanh đường
  7. 1/2 mcafe tiêu
  8. 1 mcafe dầu mè
  9. 1 mcafe nước mắm ngon
Nguyên liệu cho nước cà
  1. 3 trái cà chua lớn, bỏ hột, bằm nhỏ
  2. 4 tép tỏi bằm nhỏ
  3. 2 Mcanh cà chua hộp
  4. 2 cọng hành lá phần trắng thái nhỏ
  5. Phần lá để sau cùng
  6. 2 Mcanh đường
  7. 1 mcafe muối
  8. 1 Mcanh dầu ăn
  9. 2 mcafe bột năng pha với 2 mcafe nước
  10. 1/2 chén nước lọc
